Before submission

Before the work reaches a publisher.

Sending your work to a publisher — literary, music, or otherwise — is a significant moment. It enters a review process with multiple readers and a timeline outside your control. Creating a timestamped record before submission establishes when your specific version of the work existed, independently of any platform or submission system.

Book manuscripts

A manuscript submitted to a literary agent or publisher enters a review process that can last months. Timestamp the version you submit before it goes — establishing that the work existed in that form at that moment.

Song lyrics and compositions

Lyrics and compositions sent to music publishers, sync licensing contacts, or labels move informally before any deal is signed. A timestamped record of the version you sent exists independently of any platform or correspondence.

Screenplays and scripts

A script submitted to a production company, studio, or independent producer enters a process with many readers. Timestamp before submission — the record is independent of the submission system's own logging.

What the record shows.

A Lyricsmit record shows that a specific file — your manuscript, your lyrics, your screenplay — existed at a specific moment in time. The SHA-256 fingerprint ties the timestamp to the exact contents of your file. If the file has not changed, the fingerprint matches. If it has changed, it does not.

That record is independent. It does not depend on the publisher's system, a submission portal, or any third party to be valid. It exists outside all of those systems.

Every version you timestamp becomes part of your Creative Record Archive — a private history of your work across submissions and drafts. Lyricsmit stores the cryptographic fingerprint and timestamp, never the file itself.

How it works

01

Upload before you send

Any file — manuscript, script, lyrics. Lyricsmit generates a SHA-256 fingerprint. The file is never stored.

02

Get the timestamp

An RFC 3161 independent timestamp is recorded at the exact UTC moment. Permanent and verifiable.

03

Then send to the publisher

Your record exists before the submission. The verification link is shareable with anyone, at any time.
